Monday morning we got up and got ready then headed to the coast. We went through Tillamook on the way to Beverly beach State Park. We had fun watching them make cheese and of course getting to try some. We saw the others who went there too...Jeff and Elizabeth, and the Jones. After getting checked into our yurt we took lots of family pictures in our super cool shirts that Alan designed. Then we unloaded our car into the yurt. Grandpa and some others had cooking dinner under control (30 foil dinners that we had made that morning) so our family headed over to check out the beach for a few minutes. The foil dinners were delicious and then we had a big fun family home evening. We had a good lesson and fun games and smores for dessert.
Tuesday Grandpa made mountain man breakfast for us all. After breakfast we played some fun group/ team building games. Then went down to Waldport to go crabbing on the city dock. We all had a ton of fun. We didn't catch any crabs that were big enough to keep, but someone gave us one. The crab sat in a bucket for a little while then we had it cooked up to try. We had 4 crab rings and it was super fun. There were always crabs every time we pulled one up. The most we had in 1 ring was 27 once. It is always fun to watch the crabs crawl all over the dock and fall in or pick them up and throw them back in. Everyone loved it! Jared was disappointed on our way down to crab. He just wanted to go to the beach to play, but I'm pretty sure crabbing was one of his favorite parts of the whole reunion. We got to have spaghetti for dinner and then had an awesome talent show. It was really fun to see everyone perform! At the start we learned the family dance and practiced it again at the end.

Time for some exploring!

Wednesday we had omelets in a bag and sausage and biscuits roasted over the fire for breakfast. Those two things were some of my favorites from growing up. It was national lighthouse day. We visited Yaquina Head light house interpretive center and saw a special puppet show. You couldn't go up in the lighthouse that day...it's always closed on Wednesdays. We also went to the Yaquina Bay lighthouse. Then we went and walked around the waterfront at Newport. The sea lions were another big hit of the trip. We got some salt water taffy and had fun window shopping in the shops. Grandma had fun crafts planned for every day. Wednesday they got to decorate water bottles. Alan and I had a fun time planning a treasure hunt for the kids. They had a fun time running all over camp following the not too tricky clues. They also loved finding their loot bags at the end. We had a little time to go play at the beach some more. Then we had chicken and rice for dinner. That evening we did skits in a bag. We have such a creative family. They were all really fun.
Sand man!
Thursday morning we dragged ourselves out of bed to go see the tide pools at the Yaquina Head Lighthouse. They were really good tide pool and we had a good time searching. Then we went back to camp and had breakfast burritos. We went to the Oregon Coast Aquarium for the morning. It is fun to see the sea life there. There were some abalone that we were able to see eat kelp. It was amazing how they were able to just suck it in. There were lots of other fun things to see and do. We hurried back to camp for a tea party. They got to make fun octopus cupcakes and eat tons of fruit. Then Alan, Jared, Lauren and I hurried back to the Yaquina Headlight house so we could go on a tour. Ash and Will went too. Bradley and Connor got to stay and play with Grandma and Grandpa down at the beach. It was fun to go up in the lighthouse. Last time we were there Alan and Jared went up, but I had to stay down with Lauren and Bradley. It's pretty cool to go up to the top. It was a super cloudy day so we couldn't see anything at the top, but still fun. Then we came back for dinner. Barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs...right on the open fire! While dinner was getting ready Alan made some giant bubble with some things we bought in town and some sticks he found at camp. They were really big! After dinner we had a fun beach/ tiki party and smores again.
Fresh Fish!...or plastic....the way I prefer it :)
Fishing at the party.
They were cute sleeping 3 across on the futon in the yurt.
Friday we had pancakes, french toast, ham and fruit for breakfast. Then we played mexican sea horse races, did the limbo, and had an egg drop competition. We also all wrote a little message for Greg on a big banner. Then we cleaned up camp. We loaded into our car and headed to Grandma's house. We had yummy mexican food for dinner.
Saturday we had to say bye to Jeff, Elizabeth, and Brett. It was harder than saying bye in Provo since we aren't sure when we will see them again. Uncle Steve and Aunt Diane and Denise were in town and came over for several hours in the morning. Jared, Lauren, and Bradley, and Lily all made treasure chests with Grandma and Ashley. They had fun customizing them just how they wanted them and then filling them with gems. We went to the park with Grandma and Grandpa and Ash and Will for a short time and then back to Grandma's to make ice cream in Ash and Will's ice cream ball. We had a fun time rolling it around in the back yard, but even more fun eating it. We had to say bye to Ashley and Will, but it wasn't too bad since we knew we would see them the next day. Scott and Bethany came over for dinner again. We had pizza and a fun time playing with them one last time.
Sunday morning we got up and got ready and headed on the road for our next big adventure! It was a little harder saying bye since we were leaving and heading for a great big unknown. Sunday we were just heading to Ashley's house so that did make it a little better. I think we left Grandma and Grandpa's close to 10am and got to Ashley and Will's close to 10:30 pm. We aren't very fast, but we made it. It was an amazing week! We had tons of fun being with everyone and playing playing playing! We can't wait for the next reunion!
Crashing at Ash and Will's house.

Let's do it again! That was fun!
