This last week was a good one. Jared was on spring break and it was Lauren's last few days of preschool. The weather at the start of the week was really nice and we were able to walk Lauren down to school. Jared has thought it pretty unfair that Lauren has gotten to do so many cool things on campus after we drop him off at school this whole year....so he was excited to go and see what was going on. He was not disappointed. Independent Study was on campus telling people about classes they could take that will now be included in tuition....they were also having a carnival. Monday (after I got my lazy man Iron Man tshirt...they were out of Alan's size so he'll get his this Tuesday) and Tuesday we went to Brigham's square and got cotton candy, popcorn, and otter pops. They were also giving away sunglasses and beach balls and tshirts. Jared and Brad thought it was great. Wednesday when we walked down we ran into some friends. They were headed to the electrical and computer engineering department's senior day....where they show off the cool projects that they have been working on all year. We headed over after dropping Lauren off. It was a lot of fun to go see and watch. Jared was concerned that it was almost time to get Lauren...I told him he had another hour before we had to get her and he said yeeessss!!! Fist pump included. He now wants to be an engineer when he grows up...as long as he gets to work with robots. One of the things there were remote control cars that they were steering with lasers. They had to navigate and only knock down certain pylons....and it was a race. Jared and Brad thought this was supper cool and watched the whole competition. When it was all over one team gave Jared a turn to drive their car. He loved it! It got over about the same time as Lauren got done at her last day of school. So we just walked back over and picked her up. Our friends came with us and then we played on the play ground at the preschool for a bit. (We played on Tuesday too.) Alan was able to walk home with us. We got home just before it started to rain.
Thursday and Friday were rainy. Thursday we just stayed home...I think we only went out to get Brad some more fluoride tablets at the health center and to pick up a new key from the office....They put "new"...really old... doorknobs on two of our doors one day this week and Alan's key wouldn't fit in the lock. I'm not sure why they changed them...They did everyone's...but they aren't better...I have jokingly said I would know they had done ours if I came home and the door knob wasn't sticky.
We had lots of fun inside play these days.
Getting stronger!!!
Brad loves!!!! to dress up.
It was hard to get him to stop moving.
Oh Thursday night our ward had a ward dance. They wanted it to be semi-formal. Jeff and Elizabeth came over and babysat while Alan and I went to it. I think there were about 13 or 14 couples there....it was pretty fun. They had a band come and play a few songs...then they had some dance instruction...then just played music for a bit.
Friday we just did our normal...library and practice organ and more playing.
The guy storyteller at the library said we could have all the left over butterflies....all 154 of them.... :) I know it doesn't look like that many, but we counted. Any good ideas for them?
The weather was still crazy. It hailed a couple times on Friday.
Jared playing with Connor.
Saturday our ward had a stuff swap and Alan worked on some programing stuff. In the evening we went to winco and a couple other stores.
Today Alan and I both got new callings...in primary. He will be teaching the oldest class...in our ward... CTR 6...and I will be doing music (rotate between playing piano and leading). We both got released from our old callings, but I'll still have to play organ for a few weeks since they didn't call anyone new. Today after church Brad started wearing undies...He put on the one pair and he is sleeping in the same pair....we'll see how the night goes...but so far no accidents and he tells us when he has to go...pretty good for day 1. All the kids had much needed naps today...but now Jared is having a hard time sleeping.
Brad building a wall for Connor...
then the others wanted in the picture too.
This should be another good week..back to school for Jared...but now that Lauren is done he is looking forward to being done too.
hahaha : ) uncle brett must have taught brad everything he knows!
